Bryan-Bennett Library Board of Trustees Special Meeting Minutes

March 21, 2022, 6 p.m. in the Board Room

Call to Order

Board President Jane Gaston called to order the March 21 special meeting of the Bryan-Bennett Library Board of Trustees at 6:03 p.m.

Roll Call of Trustees

Trustees present were: Ed Dolbeare, Jane Gaston, Gary Hahn, Joyce Raver, Gayla Wilkerson and Ann Wilzbach. Trustees absent were: Tom Champion, Lynn Larimer, and Jack McGuire. Also present was Ray Booher, owner of Booher’s Tin Shop, and Library Director Kim Keller.

Public Comment: There was no public comment.

Roof Project: Coordination with HVAC Project

The Board discussed the roof replacement project with Mr. Booher. A focus of the conversation was any complications regarding future repair and replacement of Heating, Ventilation, Air Condition units. Two units in the main Library area are not operational. Mr. Booher was asked to present a formal summary of the system and the repairs that are needed on the 2 units that are down.

The Board asked Mr. Booher to study any correlation between a situation throughout the building, whereby ceiling tiles are frequently discolored due to some type of moisture.

 Roof Project: Preliminary Project Details

Trustee Hahn updated the Board about his contact with the roof project architect, Kale Calvert of ADG Architecture and Design Group of Mt. Carmel. He presented the Board with preliminary estimates and project drawings provided by Mr. Calvert.

 The Board thanked Trustee Hahn for the work he is doing to plan and coordinate the roof project.

Proposed FY23 Budget

The Board reviewed the proposed Fiscal Year 2023 Budget, which had been discussed at the Board’s March 15, 2022, meeting. A motion by Trustee Dolbeare, with a second by Trustee Wilkerson was approved unanimously.

At 6:40 p.m., Trustee Wilkerson moved to adjourn the meeting. Second by Trustee Wilzbach. Motion carried.
